Self Build Mortgages

Self build Mortgages are provided for clients wanting to either buy land and build a property or to develop land they already own. Similar to home improvement loans, a formal plan with permission and costings is always required.  These mortgages normally require a deposit of at least 25% and are presently not for investment or commercial purposes but available to borrowers who are to move into the property themselves.  The chosen lender will pay for up to 75% of each build stage ie 75% of the land purchase price and then after valuation 75% of each subsequent stage of the build.  Normally at completion a remortgage is performed so the applicant can get a standard high street mortgage rate.
